Welcome 2025!

Happy New Year SMS, and welcome back! We hope your family’s time away over the holidays was filled with joy, rest, and an energy boost for the months ahead. As we step into 2025, we’re excited to reconnect and continue building on the successes and growth we’ve seen so far this school year.

We recognize that the transition back to school after the holidays can be challenging for students as they reengage with their learning and adjust to the structured routines of school life. The best remedy for student reengagement is always sleep. (We all can us a bit more of it)  It might get a bit bumpy this week but as always, SMS students will rise to the challenge.

The start of a new year often marks a natural point of transition for students as they continue to mature and further develop their sense of self. For our Grade 5 students, they are now fully immersed in the middle school experience, showing greater confidence and independence as learners and contributors to our school community. Meanwhile, our Grade 8 students are beginning to prepare for their journey into high school, an exciting milestone that brings new opportunities and responsibilities.
